Classwork.
Short assignments that are usually done during class
20 assignments at 10 pts each

Demos / Quiz
Longer more detailed projects that required several days before submitting for grading.10 projects at 60 pts each
30% 600pts
Projects
Projects usually announced at one date and due at a later time. It can involve groups or can involved a single student
2 Projects at 100pts each

FINAL
This final will be fusion of a written exam with a project.
30% 300pt

Extra Credit Opportunities
A total of 100 extra credit points can be earned sporadically via the following:
Answering questions on the fly 2pts
Service to the classroom. 2-5pts
TA  activities 2-5pts

A+ = 97 to 100
B+ = 87 to 89
C+ = 77 to 79
D+ = 67 to 69
F= less than 60
A = 93 to 96
B = 83 to 86
C = 73 to 76
D = 63 to 66
A- = 90 to 92
B- = 80 to 82
C- = 70 to 72
D- = 60 to 62

Absence During an Exam or Project:
Students must make every effort to be present during an EXAM and turn in PROJECTS on time as scheduled. The  absent a student must take the EXAM or turn in a PROJECT immediately upon return.  

For the Final Exam the student must be present, no exceptions, else student will have earned a ‘0’ for that exam which will greatly affect their grade.

Late Assignments

  1. 24 hours late: 5 pt penalty
  2. Up to 1 week late: 10% penalty
  3. Between 1 to 2 weeks late: 20% penalty
  4. Between 2 to 3 weeks late: 30% penalty
  5. Between 3 to 4 weeks late: 40% penalty
  6. Between 5 to 6 weeks late: 50% penalty
  7. Between 7  to 8 weeks late: 60% penalty
  8. No assignments to be accepted after 8 weeks
